What does it mean by “three different departments”?

A division is where multiple departments are HOUSED. At PCC "Natural Sciences" (the division) has a few departments such as BIOL, CHEM, GEOG, PHYS, etc.

Example: You could satisfy honors with BIOL 011H (4 units), GEOG 001 (3 units), SOC 001H (3 units), and MATH 005AH (5 units).

Example: You could not satisfy honors with Math 005AH, Math 005BH, MATH 055H, and Math 010H. These courses are ALL from one department.

All study abroad classes taught by PCC faculty count towards Honors credit. Classes taught by foreign or contracted teachers do not.

Yes, as long as it states honors on the course on the transcript. The limit is 7 units maximum for external coursework. Please contact the Faculty Coordinator or the Honors Counselor if you are in this

Honors Course: All of the students in the class are in the Honors program and Honors is embedded within the curriculum of the course. Some courses may not have an “H” on course titles. However, we know on the back end if the course is “Honors” per CRN and the professor who taught the course that semester.

Honors Option: Classes are open to all students, not just students in the Honors program. To receive Honors credit, students need to complete an additional project to earn honors credit. Projects are assigned by the professor and each will vary. Students must fill out a form and submit it to the Honors Program by a specific deadline.

Not necessarily. Once you receive your acceptance email you can register for Honors Classes. It is recommended that you attend an Orientation as soon as possible. You will not be dropped from classes if you attend orientation AFTER you enroll. If you miss the initial Orientation, there will be multiple Orientations offered later throughout the year (you need to attend one). Orientation dates are regularly announced in Honors Program Canvas announcements.

Yes, and we will need all of the transcripts. Similarly, all of them count when you apply for transfer, also.
