To earn an AA or AS Degree from Pasadena City College you must complete the following requirements:

Complete a minimum of 60 degree applicable units (courses numbered 1-99)

Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 in all coursework completed at PCC and in comparable courses at other regionally accredited institutions.

Complete the required courses for your selected Area of Emphasis or major as detailed in the catalog or addenda. All courses in the area of emphasis must be completed with a grade of C or better or a "P" if the course is taken on a Pass/No Pass basis.

At least 12 units of the required 60 units, must be completed at PCC. No more than 6 units may be transferred from another college if earned after your last enrollment at PCC.

Certified completion of one the following general education patterns:
- PCC Local General Education
- Students who began college prior to Fall 2024 and maintained PCC catalog rights may be eligible to follow the former PCC Local General Education pattern below. Please consult with an Academic Counselor.
- Cal-GETC
- Students who began college prior to Fall 2025 may have rights to one or more of the
former general education patterns below. Please consult with an Academic Counselor
to determine which general education pattern to complete.
