Chem 1A Diagnostic
Purpose of the Diagnostic
The Chemistry diagnostic exam will determine if you are prepared to be successful in General Chemistry I (CHEM 1A) or if Introductory Chemistry (CHEM 22) is a better start for you. The exam is an effective tool to determine if students have the Chemistry content knowledge that is necessary to do well in Chem 1A and they what would be taught in our Introductory Chemistry (Chem 22) course, which is our prerequisite course for Chem 1A. This exam was reviewed and approved by faculty members in the Chemistry Department that traditionally teach this course. We encourage students to take this exam to determine if they have the knowledge to be successful in CHEM 1A or if CHEM 22 is needed as preparation for CHEM 1A.
